THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACT OF THE ‘ME-TOO’ MOVEMENT ON THE SOCIETY

The me-too movement became a viral issue a few years ago. It began with an accusation and it suddenly became so popular. Sometimes it is a reason to have arguments about: was it positive, or was it negative, for society?

First and foremost, the me-too movement has helped a lot to remove silence and embarrassment to denounce those rapists who thought they would not be accused or charged. The me-too movement has empowered a lot of woman to accept and denounce that misfortune they had lived. The me-too movement has helped us to see some famous man as they truly are: monsters.

On the other hand, the me-too movement has been so spread and it is something so public that those celebrities that had been raped and denounced it, may stay ‘labeled’ the rest of their life. Their disgrace is not a secret or a private issue, but it is as public and accessible information as weather prognostic for the next day.

To conclude, I think that the me-too movement has had more advantages than disadvantages whether we are talking about its effects on society.

PROS AND CONS OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCAHNGE PROGRAMS IN THE US

Student exchange programs in the US are booming nowadays and they are also a topic to discuss about, as they have advantages and also disadvantages.

On the one hand, we are going to focus on the pros. First of all, it seems that in the US student exchange programs are very popular as they are so organized and they offer an opportunity to learn. They also are a chance to meet new people and make new friends, but over all, it is a chance to practice English with American people!

On the other hand, there are people who say that the programs are for so much time and that they could feel homeless if they were taking part on them. And student programs are also told to be expensive. I do not know if their prices are high, but I can tell that not everyone can afford them.

To conclude, I think that student exchange programs could be a nice chance to practice English, as long as you are lucky and adopted by a normal, polite and comprehensive family.

‘UNIFORMS AT SCHOOL ARE A GOOD IDEA’. Discuss.

The topic of school uniforms has always been a reason to have arguments about. There are people who are against and others who are convinced that uniforms impulse equality among children.

On the one hand, uniforms are a good idea because they help you to save time, as you need not spend it on thinking what you have to wear.

On the other hand, although they can make your life a little more comfortable, they can be very expensive. Besides, some psychologists say that uniforms mean the death of children’s creativity.

To conclude, I think that although uniforms can solve envies regarding to clothes among students, these envies can find another topic to come to light. Nevertheless, I am not against school uniforms.
